Since July 1st 2013 the European Building Products Regulation (BPV) came into full effect. According to this regulation, all building products which are subject to a standardized norm, should henceforth be accompanied with a declaration of Performance (DoP).
This DoP is a document in which the producer declares himself responsible for the results proclaimed by him. Since this declaration is obligatory in all of the European countries, the producers are required to use a common language to express the performance of their products. The testing methods are identical in all of the countries of the European Union, making it possible for the consumer to compare products of several producers.
